PARANORMASIGHT is a supernatural horror visual novel set in the Sumida Ward of Tokyo during the late Showa era. It blends point-and-click exploration with psychological battles, where you interrogate cursed strangers and manage Curse Stones while investigating the Seven Mysteries of Honjo. Every clue you collect can save one character and doom another, so nothing is straightforward.
PARANORMASIGHT does not rely on jump scares, and that works in its favor. The 360-degree background system is not a gimmick. You rotate the camera in every scene, forcing you to look behind objects, under desks, and into alleyways that would be invisible in a static visual novel. The Tokyo here is not a postcard version; it is a dingy, lived-in place with peeling posters, old telephones, and rain-streaked windows. The Showa nostalgia is tactile, but it turns hostile the moment a ghostly face appears in the background.
Normal conversations turn into something else when a cursed opponent starts speaking. Instead of selecting dialogue options, you need to identify the condition hidden inside their words before they do the same to you. I failed my first battle by ignoring a phrase about a red umbrella, and the game did not forgive that. The Curse Stones act as both health and ammunition, so you have to decide whether to spend them on questions or keep them for protection.
Not everything lands. The multiple-perspective structure can feel fragmented when you switch characters in the middle of a tense scene, and some saves rely on memories you did not know you needed to preserve. The pacing also slows considerably in the middle chapters, mostly when you have to walk through the same locations again to trigger a specific event. On a phone, the text size is readable, but the small touch targets for camera rotation require patience.
Talk to everyone twice. The game hides key information in repeat dialogue, and a second conversation often reveals a character's fear or a location they refuse to mention. Keep your Curse Stones above half before any major dialogue, because the final battle in your chosen ending can drain them quickly. And do not skip the story map: it links character timelines and shows which clue is attached to whom.
PARANORMASIGHT asks you to solve a mystery where the answer changes based on who you trust. It is not comfortable, and that is the point. If you want a horror game that respects your intelligence and punishes carelessness, this is worth the time.
