Hide My Test! is a comedy prank simulator where you hide a fake test paper in various spots to avoid your mom's suspicion. Cartoonish animations and reactive dialogue create short, funny bursts of gameplay.
The first time I opened Hide My Test!, I expected a simple photo editor. Instead, the app drops you into a virtual bedroom where you choose a hiding spot for a simulated test paper. Each spot — the toilet tank, a sock drawer, behind a poster — triggers a short comedy scene. The app rates your choice with a sneakiness score and a Mom Suspicion Meter. It's a prank simulator, not a real deception tool, and the tone stays cartoonish throughout.
There are only about 15 hiding locations, and after the first few tries you'll recognise every animation. That sounds like a dealbreaker, but the app compensates with reactive dialogue. Pick a terrible spot, and your mom finds the test instantly — a disappointed sigh plays, a text bubble pops up. Pick a clever spot, and the app holds its breath for three tense seconds before giving you a relief animation. I caught myself actually leaning forward during a few attempts. The sound design — footsteps creaking, a door handle turning — does more work than the visuals to sell the joke. It is not deep gameplay. It is a five-minute distraction you revisit during study breaks or sleepovers.
First, there is no way to add custom hiding spots. You cannot scan your actual room or upload a photo of your desk. The fifteen pre-set locations are all you get, and the bathroom cabinet animation does grow stale. Second, the app has no sharing or multiplayer feature beyond raw screenshots. You cannot prank a friend by sending them an interactive "hidden test" scenario. Third — and this matters for some users — Hide My Test! contains zero study tools or test anxiety resources. It is purely a comedy prop. If you need an app that helps with motivation or grade tracking, this is not it.
The app runs on most Android devices running 8.0 or newer, though older phones may stutter during the animated hide scenes. There is no cloud save, no progress system, no unlockable content. Once you have seen all fifteen hiding spots and their corresponding reactions, the experience is complete. For what it sets out to be — a lightweight, silly roleplay tool for the kind of scenario every teenager has imagined — it delivers exactly that. You will probably delete it after a week. But during that week, it will make you laugh at least a few times.
